2. Why are your fees so high?

3. What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hr. notice for all cancellations.  The full session will be billed for no-shows and for sessions cancelled within less than 24 hr notice.

4. What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept payment by cash, cheque, or e-transfer.

5. Will my private insurance cover your services?

If you have extended health benefits (EHB) through your employer, our services are likely covered; however, each EHB provider offers its own benefits and limits.  We recommend that you contact your EHB provider to obtain more information about your benefits.

6. Can you bill my private insurance directly?

We do not bill EHB providers directly.  We will provide you with a receipt, which you can then submit to your EHB provider for reimbursement.

7. If I (or my child) had an assessment done recently, do we have to do another one?

If you have received an assessment within the last 6 months, with your consent, we will obtain the results from the treating Speech-Language Pathologist, so that another assessment does not have to be completed.

8. How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions will vary based on a number of factors.  As a result, we are unable to predict how many sessions you or your child may need.  You can discuss this with yourSpeech-Language Pathologist at the time of your first visit.

9. Will I get a written report after my initial visit?

We will gladly provide written reports and/or letters upon request.   Since not everyone needs or wants a report, we give you the option to request one.  Report writing is billed at $140 per hour.

10. Can we access private and public services at the same time?

Yes and No. You can access both private and public services at the same time as long as there isn’t a conflict of interest. If this is an option you are considering, please discuss it with your Speech-Language Pathologist.

11. Do you work with any students or volunteers?

At times, we do have students or volunteers with us, in the office, particularly at the Barrhaven location. They are usually people who are interested in becoming Speech-LanguagePathologists or Communication Disorders Assistants.   On occasion, we also supervise Speech-LanguagePathology students from various University programs as they obtain clinical hours towards completion of their degree.
